Why Desert Heat Drains Battery Performance
Heat speeds up the chemical reactions inside a battery. A little warmth may improve short-term output, but sustained high temperatures degrade cells, shorten service life, and increase the chance of swelling or failure. That applies to common alkaline batteries, rechargeable AA and AAA cells, lithium-ion tool batteries, camera packs, vehicle batteries, and larger portable power stations.
